The "Don't Panic, Exercise!" x PatentDuo joint collection is a special initiative that combines sports, mental health awareness, and sustainable fashion.
The collection was inspired by the movement of Rita Tamás , who chose sports as a means to regain mental balance during her own recovery from panic disorder. Rita's story is an inspiration for many to use sports to ease their mental difficulties.
The birth of the collection
The birth of the "Don't Panic, Play Sports!" x PatentDuo collection was not only about creating a new sports collection, but also about realizing a deeper cultural and philosophical fusion. At the beginning , Rita Tamás and Ivett Orbán and Ágnes Somogyi ( https://agnessomogyi.com/ ) started from the patterns of the two countries - Norway and Hungary - combining the folk and traditional pattern treasures, thus creating a special, Norwegian-Hungarian-inspired collection.
As a first step, we discovered and selected traditional Norwegian and Hungarian patterns. In Norway, traditional motifs of Scandinavian folk art have become a part of Rita’s everyday life, appearing in almost everything, from textiles to furniture. These patterns are often stylized depictions of nature, mountains, pine forests, and the Nordic way of life. In Hungary, however, traditional folk motifs draw from rich folklore, from floral embroidery to geometric patterns.
The inspiration came from the meeting of these two worlds: Norwegian minimalism and closeness to nature combined with the flourishing Hungarian folk motifs, which are much more ornate and emotional. The meeting of these two treasures resulted in the unique design that makes the pieces of the collection truly special and unrepeatable.
This cultural fusion not only looks good visually, but also carries a message: sport, culture and personal development can connect different worlds. Each piece in the collection is made in the spirit of this philosophy, with special, carefully selected patterns that reflect both tradition and new beginnings.
The collection will start with 2 designs, and we plan to expand it with more pieces later.
Nr.1 and Nr.2 are technical sports pants that are perfect for yoga, running, training or even everyday wear.
IKIGAI message
Another special feature of the collection is the message "IKIGAI" that can be found in every piece. The word ikigai comes from Japanese and means: finding what is worth getting up for every day. Rita's personal message: "More than a lot is enough. Moderation, proportions, balance. These are worth striving for."
Sustainability and style
All pieces in the PatentDuo collections are skin-friendly and sustainable, made with minimal waste and professional attention in our small tailoring shop in the 13th district. The products are manufactured entirely in Hungary.
The patterns are applied to the material with a special water-based dye, which further enhances the natural, environmentally friendly nature of the material. The socks can also be worn by those with sensitive skin.
